Mario Melis, is a young Parisian artist, from the 18th century, it is also where she grew up. A former student of Decorative Arts in Strasbourg, it is above all through her friends, the Internet and books that she has learned the most. She expresses herself mainly through drawing and painting, but she enjoys experimenting with other fields such as writing, creating objects and tattooing.

From high school, she wanted to become a tattoo artist, but it was much later when her friends started to get started, that she tried her luck.

For her, tattooing is another way of working on her designs which are not intended for the same audiences as those who go to art galleries.

Besides, she defines herself more as a designer than a tattoo artist strictly speaking, using tattooing as a medium, drawing inspiration from the time when in college everyone spun their diary in order to have a drawing. This is how she perceives her work through tattooing.

As for her influences, she says she is a bulimic of images that she collects, ranging from cute imagery to much more raw depending on what she is looking for. She particularly likes Keke Hunt's style, which is super singular and clear.

In one of her latest projects, she presents us with 3D illustrations. She explains to us that she started 3D, following a portrait she had made of a friend. She found it dishonest to want to paint her realistically with the same techniques as two hundred years ago. It is through technical imperfections that she finds the work more interesting.

His 3D illustrations, especially his hands, come from the images that we can see in beauty salons and the avatars that we create, by modifying our appearance, our perception of oneself as an object.
